Belgrade & Zagreb

So after several months in Europe, I finally made my way into the former-Yugoslavia, visiting Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, re-entering Italy through Trieste. I flew from Milano to Beograd, where I was greeted by the guy from the hostel - which turned out to be a 2 bedroom apartment that I had for myself during my 4 nights in Belgrade.

Unfortunately, January is not the best month to visit Beograd but there is definetely plenty for someone to do there - and I hope to be able to go back with friends during greener months in the future!

On Friday, the 21st, I started moving back towards Trento and traveled to Zagreb by train, where I spent the night. An interesting capital, it strikes me as a cross between Ottawa and Vienna. After Zagreb, I made my way towards Ljubljana - as you will see in my next update!

Budapest

Its been a while - the Internet here is as good as always - but here it finally is: My entry for Budapest!

After spending five days in Vienna, I left for Budapest on the afternoon of December 26th. Its really a beautiful city and I spent the next two days visiting Pest (east bank) and Buda (west bank), two full days of beautiful streets and buildings, a huge Parliament building, attending La Bohème at the State Opera House and visiting castles and old parts of the city.

Here are some photos - enjoy!
